Assembly Instructions for Neonatal Radiolucent Immobilizer

Follow these steps to assemble and prepare the Lateral Decubitus Device or Supine
Device for use. These instructions apply to all size variants.

1. Verify Components

  •  Ensure all parts are included and in good condition:
  • Base, Back support and braces for lateral decubitus Unit: The primary radiolucent structure.
  • Base Unit for the Supine Unit
  • Adjustable Straps/Pads: For securing the neonate.
  • Positioning Supports: Cushioned or shaped inserts for proper alignment.

2. Prepare the Work Area

  • Select a clean, flat, and stable surface near the imaging equipment.
  • Disinfect the immobilizer components if necessary, following the manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Verify that the chosen size matches the neonate’s weight and body dimensions.

Step-by-Step Assembly Instructions for the Neonatal Radiolucent Immobilizer

Follow these detailed steps to assemble and secure the device for safe and effective use:

1. Place the Base on a Flat Surface

  • Start by placing the base of the device on a clean, stable, and flat surface.
  • Ensure the base is positioned close to the imaging equipment for convenience.

2. Insert and Lock the Braces

  • Start by placing the base of the device on a clean, stable, and flat surface.
  • Ensure the base is positioned close to the imaging equipment for convenience.

3. Attach the Back Support

  • Insert the back support into the teeth of the braces, ensuring it is securely attached.
  • Make sure the type of the lateral decubitus support is facing inward, toward the inside of the device, for proper positioning.

4. Insert the Straps

  • Thread the straps through the designated holes in the device.
  • Ensure the straps are positioned to hold the infant securely without interfering with their comfort.

5. Place the Infant on the Device

  • Gently place the infant onto the assembled device.
  • Position the infant correctly based on the required imaging angle.

6. Secure the Infant

  • Use the Velcro straps to secure the baby inside the device.
  • Ensure the straps are snug but not overly tight, maintaining both safety and comfort.
  • Double-check that the infant is stable and cannot move unintentionally during imaging.
  • Ensure patient safety, provide measures to prevent patients from rolling out of the device, and falling.

7. Final Adjustments

  • Verify all parts are properly locked and secured.Use the Velcro straps to secure the baby inside the device.

The device is now ready for use. Always monitor the infant during the procedure and ensure all components are functioning as intended. After use, disassemble and clean the device according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
